About this ebook

Nathan Quinn is battle-scarred and tough-as-nails. Maybe that’s why he sees through Jolie Carter’s evasiveness. He recognizes the look in her eyes, the pain of whatever haunts her. It’s eating her up inside and he won’t stop digging until he can share the weight of it.

Jolie’s buried her past—until it walks into her coffee shop and sends her into a spiral she’s unable to hide from Quinn. But as danger lurks and memories continue to appear, she finds herself reluctantly accepting solace from her unwanted protector.

After all, sometimes the only hope of facing the present is by accepting help from those with pasts more haunted than their own.

I found this book riveting on many levels. As at the age of 14 I was attempted raped by older man. My mom saved me that time but she died when I was close to 18, and really there was never anyone to protect me after that. I was raped twice once when I was 20 and once when I was 21. I never had a voice , not one person cared so for many years I suffered anger episodes that were destructive to me and anyone close to me such as my only child. I am 77 and I still have anger management problems stemming
